Simply put, the Cattle Identification Database (CID) records the breed composition and available performance data for cattle of any breed or combination of breeds, providing dairy producers a means to record, monitor, and evaluate multi-breed animals.
The CID certificate combines information found on a traditional registration certificate with the performance information of a pedigree.
- Animal's name and herd management number
- Official identification number
- All known breed composition of the animal (instead of %RHA)
- Ownership information
- Three-generation lineage information
- Available performance information, including 305-day lactation records, classification scores, and indexes
